Late winter (February to early March) is ideal for most deciduous trees because they are dormant, making it easier to see the branch structure and reducing the risk of pest and disease entry through fresh cuts. Some species, like maples and birches, bleed sap in late winter and are better pruned in mid-summer. We will advise you on timing for your specific trees.
